Our recent films

Shrub Provisions

Over the summer, we teamed up with Shrub provisions and David Charbit to create a short film exploring how the farmers in the South East of the UK are doing to preserve the environment while practicing sustainable farming practices.

Prisoner of Hope

We follow the lives of three refugees in the UK and learn about their hardships, their difficult pasts, and their hopes for the future.

Prisoner of Hope is part of the Refugee Heritage Project, made in partnership with Refugee Radio and supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Our Story

There is a lack of diversity and inclusion in filmmaking

We live in an inequitable world where not every community has agency and autonomy in their representation. At Subterranean Light we help diversify your storytelling and champion underrepresented voices. Through lived experiences and academic connections, we are well versed in cultural sensitivities from around the world and uniquely equipped to help you convey complex narratives with insight, respect and sensitivity.
